Automation Engineer – Infra

Senior Automation Engineer (Infrastructure) - Belgium, onsite 5 days per week

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to lead the adoption of Infrastructure Automation and Automation-as-Code across our enterprise technology environment.
You will design, develop and maintain scalable automation solutions using Ansible, working across infrastructure, cloud, network, security and platform teams to improve operational efficiency, consistency, security and resilience.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills and a passion for eliminating manual processes through automation. You will help shape the organisation's automation strategy and build a modern, resilient infrastructure platform.

You must be able to work onsite in Belgium 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise automation solutions using Ansible.
  • Build reusable playbooks, roles, collections and automation frameworks.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, patching and lifecycle management across Linux and Windows environments.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and Automation-as-Code standards and promote adoption across engineering teams.
  • Automate security hardening, compliance checks, vulnerability remediation and audit reporting.
  • Improve operational resilience through automated remediation, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
  • Integrate automation with enterprise platforms, monitoring and operational tooling.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, architecture and application teams to identify and deliver automation opportunities.
  • Mentor engineers, contribute to technical standards and act as a subject matter expert for enterprise automation.

Your Skills

  • Strong experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows platforms
  • Automation-first mindset with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative and focused on continuous improvement.
