IT Financial Management Consultant (IT Cost & Controlling)

Location: Nearshore / Remote
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 27.04.2026 – 30.09.2026 (+ extension possible)
Capacity: 2–3 days per week
Work Model: Fully remote

Role Overview

We are looking for a consultant to support financial management, cost transparency, and optimization of IT services.

This role operates at the intersection of IT, Finance, and Business, with a focus on analyzing technology-related costs, improving financial visibility, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The objective is to ensure that IT spending is transparent, controlled, and aligned with business priorities.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Cost Transparency & Analysis

  • Analyze IT service usage and related costs
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation across systems, services, and business units
  • Develop and maintain cost reports and dashboards

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support IT budget planning and forecasting activities
  • Track actual vs planned spend and analyze deviations
  • Provide insights to improve financial planning accuracy

Cost Optimization & Governance

  • Identify opportunities to optimize IT spending and improve efficiency
  • Support implementation of cost control mechanisms and governance practices

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with IT, Finance, and Business stakeholders
  • Help align IT spending with business needs and value delivery

Communication & Enablement

  • Translate cost into clear financial insights
  • Support stakeholders in understanding cost drivers and optimization levers
  • Promote cost awareness across teams

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in IT cost controlling, IT financial management, or technology cost analysis
  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Understanding of IT service cost structures and cost drivers
  • Experience with cost allocation approaches (e.g. chargeback / showback)
  • Ability to translate technical consumption into financial impact
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
