SAP PLM Data Migration Consultant (Recipe & BOM Focus)

Role Overview:

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a dedicated & experienced SAP PLM Data migration Consultant with hands-on proven expertise in Data Migration, Recipe Management (SAP PLM-RM), and Bill of Materials (BOM) structures. The consultant will play a key role in designing, mapping, and executing data migration strategies related to Product Lifecycle Management within an S/4HANA transformation or greenfield implementation program.

Location: Europe (Hybrid/Remote possible)
*Be willing and able for travel to one Work shop visit to the client site in Sweden or Germany.
Duration: 6+ months
Language: English (must be Based in Europe or UK) passport holders or residence permits.
Start date 1-2 weeks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data migration workstream for SAP PLM, focusing on recipes, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Define and implement the data migration strategy, including extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) for PLM-related master and transactional data.
  • Collaborate with business and functional teams to validate data mapping, cleansing, and harmonization for product structures.
  • Design and configure Recipe Management (RM) processes, including ingredient formulation, version management, and specification integration.
  • Integrate PLM with SAP modules (PP, QM, MM, EHS) and ensure alignment with manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Support the migration of Engineering and Manufacturing BOMs from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and data validation post-load.
  • Provide documentation, training, and post-migration hypercare support.

Required Skills & Experience:
 

  • 10+ years of SAP experience with at least 2 full-cycle SAP PLM implementations.
  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP PLM Recipe Management, Specification Management, and Document Management (DMS).
  • Proven experience with BOM data migration — including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Formula BOMs.
  • Strong understanding of data migration tools and methods (LSMW, BODS, Migration Cockpit, or custom ETL).
  • Experience with S/4HANA PLM, PP, QM, and EHS integration points.
  • Excellent analytical and documentation skills, with a focus on data integrity and validation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in process manufacturing
  • Knowledge of SAP BTP, MDG, or SAP ECTR (Engineering Control Center).
  • Familiarity with Regulatory Compliance and Product Data Governance.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Comfortable working across global teams and multiple stakeholders.
