SAP S/4HANA Test Manager – ECC6 to S/4 Migration (Life Sciences)

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP S/4HANA Test Manager to join a major Medical / Life Sciences transformation program currently in the SIT (System Integration Testing) phase.
The ideal candidate will have proven Medical / Life Sciences experience (most recent project) a strong background in both SAP ECC and S/4HANA, proven leadership in managing global onshore/offshore testing teams, and hands-on experience coordinating all aspects of testing within complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Lead and manage all testing activities within the SAP S/4HANA program, ensuring high quality and compliance with project timelines.
  • Oversee System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression, and Performance Testing phases.
  • Define and manage the overall test strategy, test plans, and test execution schedules.
  • Coordinate and manage global test teams (onshore and offshore), ensuring clear communication and efficient delivery.
  • Work closely with business process owners, functional leads, and technical teams to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure full traceability from business requirements through to test execution and defect resolution.
  • Oversee test data preparation and environment readiness.
  • Manage defect triage meetings and drive defect resolution with relevant teams.
  • Provide regular reporting and dashboards on test progress, coverage, and quality metrics.
  • Ensure testing processes adhere to GxP / FDA / Life Sciences regulatory standards.
  • Support go-live readiness and hypercare test validation.

Location:
Remote (occasional travel as required) must be EU or UK passport holder.

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: Until June (with possible extension)
Language: English (fluent)

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of SAP experience, including strong exposure to ECC and S/4HANA systems.
  • Proven experience as a Test Manager on large-scale, global SAP programs.
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or Medical Device industries is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SAP integration across modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, PP, SD, QM).
  • Deep knowledge of SAP testing tools and methodologies (e.g., SAP Solution Manager, Tricentis Tosca, HP ALM, Jira, etc.).
  • Experience managing distributed test teams across onshore/offshore locations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to interact confidently with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with validation and compliance processes in regulated industries (e.g., CSV, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Hands-on experience in SIT and UAT management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in S/4HANA migration or Greenfield implementations.
  • Prior experience with Agile/Hybrid project delivery models.
  • SAP Certification or ISTQB certification (advantageous).
