SAP iPPE Solution Architect

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a highly experienced SAP iPPE Solution Architect / Senior Consultant to support a major manufacturing transformation program. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SAP iPPE (Integrated Product and Process Engineering) and SAP ePPDS (Extended Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling), including integration with S/4HANA and Advanced Variant Configuration.

This role requires a hands-on expert capable of driving workshops, designing complex solutions, integrating systems, and advising the client on SAP best practices in a discrete or repetitive manufacturing environment.

5 months initial contract.
Remote working role.

Key Responsibilities

SAP iPPE Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver at least two full lifecycle SAP iPPE implementations.
  • Define and configure iPPE master data, product structures, process structures, and line design.
  • Create iPPE data from external sources and ensure seamless data transfer to S/4HANA.
  • Provide expert-level guidance on the iPPE data model and its use in engineering, planning, and manufacturing scenarios.
  • Integrate iPPE with SAP ePPDS for production planning and scheduling.
  • Implement and advise on key functionalities such as Model Mix Planning and Rapid Planning Matrix (RPM).
  • Apply SAP best practice design principles for manufacturing operations, product structures, and production engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of Classical and iPPE BOMs, Routings, and Line Design.
  • Expertise in Variant Configuration (VC) and Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) for BOMs and Routings.

SAP ePPDS Responsibilities

  • Minimum 10+ years in SAP PP / Planning & Scheduling, with at least 5 years in SAP ePPDS (REM / Repetitive Manufacturing).
  • Conduct customer workshops to demonstrate ePPDS capabilities and map business requirements into functional solution design.
  • Configure and optimize planning procedures, heuristics, and master data setup for ePPDS.
  • Set up LiveCache and ensure tight integration between S/4HANA and ePPDS.
  • Configure and maintain master data for VC/CDP, PDS with iPPE Structures, and heuristics for detailed scheduling.
  • Manage transactional data for planned orders, scheduling agreements, and forecasts.
  • Deliver user training, UAT support, and testing of all ePPDS processes.
  • Work with Fiori applications relevant to planning and scheduling.
  • Ensure robust communication with customers, project teams, and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of total SAP experience, with deep expertise in manufacturing processes.
  • 2+ end-to-end implementations of SAP iPPE.
  • Strong integration experience between SAP iPPE, ePPDS, and S/4HANA.
  • Proven ability to map complex business processes into SAP best-practice solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC).
  • Familiarity with Repetitive Manufacturing (REM) and automotive industry processes (advantageous).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Certified in PP / PP-DS / iPPE / AVC (preferred).
  • Experience with automotive, industrial manufacturing, or high-volume production environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile or SAP Activate Methodology.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and workshop facilitation abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across functional and technical teams.
  • Proactive mindset and hands-on delivery approach.
