Telecom Security Engineer

Summary Description:
Nex Ventures is seeking a Telecom Security Engineer (m/f/x) for a partner in Luxembourg to join the CyberLabs team within the CyberForce Department. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative telecom security solutions, including the development and delivery of a Telecom Intrusion Detection System (TIDS) and Telecom Scanning Services (TSS) for international operators.

  • Location: Luxembourg 

  • Languages: Fluent in English; French, German, and/or Luxembourgish considered an asset

Requirements Description:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science and/or Telecommunications

  • Willing to travel a few days per month

  • Willingness to participate in rotational 24/7 on-call support (Level 3)

  • Flexible working hours with possible adjustments based on project needs

Tasks Description:

  • Contribute to R&D initiatives in Telecom Security

  • Develop and evolve components (rules, logics, UI, etc.) of the Telecom Intrusion Detection System

  • Participate in the delivery of TIDS and TSS to international telecom operators

  • Collaborate with a highly agile, interdisciplinary team

Essential Skills / Experience Description:

  • Strong knowledge of telecom signaling protocols: SS7, Diameter, GTP-C, SIP, 5G HTTP/2

  • Programming experience with Python, Bash, Java

  • Experience in telecom security or working with telecom security products

  • Excellent intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills

  • Autonomous and goal-oriented with a high standard of quality

Desirable Skills / Additional Information Description:

  • Knowledge of Splunk or similar analytics platforms

  • Understanding of UE Security (iOS & Android)

  • Knowledge of eSIM security

  • Awareness of telecom fraud (Voice, SMS, Data)

  • Experience with data visualization tools/languages

  • Contributions to industry groups like GSMA or ETIS
