ServiceNow Developer – SPM Implementation

Location: Remote (occasional travel to Brussels, 1 time month, maybe less)

Contract Type: 6-Month Freelance Contract (extensions available)

About the Role:

Our client, a leading organization in the environmental sector, is undertaking a major implementation of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) within their ServiceNow platform. They are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer (SPM) to support this strategic initiative on a freelance basis.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team to deliver a best-in-class SPM solution, ensuring alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and implement SPM modules including Portfolio, Program, and Project Management.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
  • Deliver robust technical solutions that adhere to platform best practices and governance.
  • Participate in workshops, agile ceremonies, and sprint planning to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between SPM and other ServiceNow modules or external systems.
  • Support testing, deployment, and post-implementation optimization.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge transfer for sustainability of the solution.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer with a strong focus on SPM.
  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and development standards.
  • Hands-on experience configuring SPM modules (Portfolio, Program, Project).
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Brussels (1–2 times per month).

Desirable:

  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, SPM certification).
  • Experience working within environmental or public sector organizations.
  • Familiarity with integrations, automation, and reporting capabilities in ServiceNow.

Contract Details:

  • Start Date: 1st November (flexible within a month)
  • Duration: 6 months (with strong potential for extension)
  • Location: 95% remote / occasional Brussels travel
